Funner Summer

Hello again friends! Mayor Riggle here, coming to you once again from my kingdom in Funner, CA. I’m thrilled to be writing to my fellow Funner Californians again, this time under the little shady paradise that is my poolside cabana at Dive. Ah yes, I have my golden gilded flip flops on, the ink from my fancy feathered pen is flowing and my Dive cup is filled to the brim with my favorite Summer refreshment, Real Gold! Shaken… not stirred. So get some air in those pool floats and dive into Summer with me because Mayor Riggle’s next “State of the City” is making some noise. Excuse me for a sec…. ALBERT! PUT YOUR WATER WINGS ON! I’M NOT JUMPING IN AFTER YOU AGAIN… I’M NOT A LIFEGUARD LIKE THE LAST MAYOR!

Some things have changed for the Funner since I last wrote to you. Music is a big part of how we Fun it up here at Harrah’s Resort SoCal, so I’m proud to announce that I’ve officially welcomed back live entertainment to our city! Concerts like 3 Doors Down on August 27 will rock your socks off, Brian McKnight will be serenading the night away on September 25th and Little Joe Y La Familia will be bringing his big band sound on September 11th. And, since you know I’m such a funny guy, I’ve invited a few other funny peeps to bring some laughs. I’m handing Tom Segura the mic on October 29th and Bill Burr will be taking the stage TWICE on December 10th!

But that’s not all, “oh no, oh no, oh no-no-no-no-no”. Fun in the sun is my specialty and we’ve started rocking and rolling at Dive. Poolside entertainment is back for your dancing pleasure. Live DJs are now on the ones and twos every Saturday and Sunday from Noon – 5pm. In case you want to get vibey at Dive…y, Hirie will be performing live poolside on July 2nd!

If you haven’t realized it by now, today’s update is brought to you by the letter “Dive”. Yes, “Dive” is a letter. Look it up in the Book of Funner! Anyway, I’ve decided to spice things up a bit around Funner, CA’s favorite splash ‘n’ play, starting with the food! From the sips to the eats, every delicious item on the menu has been personally inspected for quality and yumminess by yours truly. I would personally recommend ordering the left side of the menu and a Diet Coke, but you can tone it down a bit and go with the Taco-bout Delicious street tacos or the Kind of a Pig Deal carnitas sliders as a starter.

If you’re ready to celebrate and get shady in a cabana, I’ve asked my Dive brethren to pump up the fun a bit in the cabana department. July is a proud month for us at Harrah’s Resort SoCal as we have always marched in the San Diego Pride Parade. Although there’s no parade this year, you can still keep the fun going in our Pride cabana package featuring your choice of Tito’s Vodka, El Jimador Blanco Tequila, or Bacardi White Rum, juice mixers, two rainbow floaties, Pride necklaces and rainbow ribbons. The parade might not be happening this year, but consider this your chance to create your very own parade to march (or float) in! Well there you have it, just a few new declarations and mandates I’ve put in place to guarantee that your summer is that much Funner! But that’s not all. I have something else up my gilded mayoral coat sleeve. An exclusive night of Funner including yours truly rooting you on in person as you game it up. Stay tuned next month for the 4-1-1.
