Harrah’s Resort SoCal Goes All-in on Giving Back

Harrah’s Resort Southern California is celebrating the seventh year of its All-In 4 Change cash grant program by giving lucky local non-profits a chance to earn a share of $150,000. Each year, the team in Funner, CA offers a fun approach to going all-in on giving back to the charities that mean the most to Southern California communities.

Charities based in San Diego, Riverside and Orange County can apply for a chance to collect one of 12 cash grants:

First Place: $55,000
Second Place: $25,000
Third Place: $15,000
Fourth Place: $10,000
Fifth Place: $5,000
Honorable Mention Grants: $4,000 each

What organizations are doing good for your community? Encourage your favorite Southern California charity to go all-in by submitting their application to All-In 4 Change! Applications for the 2022 grant program can be submitted starting July 1.

Last year’s honorees included Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, Armed Services YMCA and Helen Woodward Animal Center, to name a few.

“We’re honored to be aligned with all of you,” said Jessica Gercke, PR Director of Helen Woodward Animal Center. “And I want to say thank you on behalf of the thousands of animals that are helped each year, and the thousands of human beings that are helped each year.”

In addition to the top five winning charities, seven organizations took home honorable mentions, each collecting $3,000 in cash.

In the end, last year’s top five All-in 4 Change winners included:

1st Place: $40,000 awarded to TransFamily Support Services
2nd Place: $20,000 awarded to Helen Woodward Animal Center
3rd Place: $10,000 awarded to Support the Enlisted Project
4th Place: $5,000 awarded to Urban Corps of San Diego County
5th Place: $4,000 awarded to Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center

From supporting diversity, to supporting cancer survivors, to enriching the lives of the elderly, all of the finalists in last year’s All-in 4 Change program truly displayed their hearts of gold.

Important Dates

July 1 - July 31: Application phase begins.

The application phase is open July 1–31.
July 31: Application phase ends.

The deadline to submit all applications.
August 2 - August 4: Request evaluation phase.

All applications are evaluated to ensure they meet contest criteria.
August 5: Eligible applicants informed.

Eligible applicants are informed that they have made it to Stage 2: “The Competition.”
August 16 - August 30: Community voting phase begins.

Voting period. The community is encouraged to vote for their favorite non-profit in the group of finalists. (Want more votes? Reach out to your organization’s membership and donor base to ask them to vote for YOU!)
August 31: Votes tabulated.
The polls close and votes are tabulated to count for 50% of the overall scores to win an All-In 4 Change grant. The remaining 50% of the score is determined by a committee at Harrah’s Resort SoCal, who will judge based on the following criteria:
- How well the project/organization aligns with Harrah’s Resort SoCal’s goals in the community
- Overall significance of the project, including long-term objectives and community impact
- How well the project and our partnership will be promoted to key stake holders and the general community
- The ability to define clear metrics for success
September 7: Committee votes cast.

Selection committee votes on winners.
September 8: Winners notified.
12 winning organizations are notified that they have received the following grants:
- First Place: $55,000
- Second Place: $25,000
- Third Place: $15,000
- Fourth Place: $10,000
- Fifth Place: $5,000
- Honorable Mention Grants: $4,000 each
September 24: Winners’ event at Harrah’s Resort SoCal.
