By now, as a dedicated Funner Californian, you know that every October we dress up the Harrah’s Resort SoCal property in pink. From our fountains and pools to our felts on the tables, we have a soft spot for doing good and showing our support. October’s breast cancer awareness month is no different. Going “pink” around our property is about more than just pink lights and pink ribbons. The pink ribbon itself represents a calling for us to help those affected by breast cancer and to bring a bit of Funner to their everyday lives. Unlike last year’s virtual spa day, we were thrilled to once again host breast cancer patients and survivors from Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center in person for a day of pampering and relaxation at The Spa at Harrah’s!
“Because of Harrah’s Resort SoCal giving back, we are able to make several of our clients feel special today and I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity.” says Jan Geller of Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center.
From a decadent spread of chocolate covered treats to relaxing and revitalizing gifts, and let’s not forget the spa services, our guests forgot everything there was to worry about and were able to zen it out!
“It’s much better than being at the doctor’s offices and hospitals that we all had to spend a lot of time at!” says… Michelle’s Place client and cancer survivor Kelly Johnson. “When we all get to come together in a place like this and get pampered, it’s wonderful.”
There you have it. Putting some zen into our guests day, contributing to a noble cause and raising breast cancer awareness all in a month’s work!
