Spring is in the air here at Harrah’s Resort SoCal and that means sunshine, pretty flowers and finally shedding those bulky cold-weather jackets. Well, cold for us San Diegans anyway. But it’s also a time for us to kick our lethargic winter laziness away and get outside for some good ol’ Vitamin D. In case you haven’t noticed, we love the sunshine. And why wouldn’t we, Harrah’s Resort SoCal is located in the heart of sunny Southern California. The Lazy River, tropical paradise. SoCal’s only Swim-up Bar, delicious and refreshing tropical paradise. The Courtyard at Corked, relaxing, secluded and yes, sunny. Harrah’s Resort SoCal knows how to have fun in the sun and now we’re taking it one step further, wellness in the sun!
Have you been to our new state-of-the-art Fitness Center? Warning, you may not want to leave! Its stunning views are a perfect way to find solitude and pump up those muscles. But maybe that guy in the corner grunting, screaming and throwing dumbbells everywhere is going a little too overboard on the pumped-muscle agenda. Well it might be time to add a little nature to your workout!
Just beyond SR76 Beerworks lies our Nature Trail. Meandering alongside the San Luis Rey River, the one-mile path offers scenic views including local creeks, the towering Palomar Mountain range and Valley Center’s lush countryside. Bring your binoculars because you might come across some feathery locals such as Stellar Jays, Black Phoebes, Black-chinned Hummingbirds and the endangered, but protected, Willow Flycatchers flying around. But don’t forget to scan the countryside for our furry and scaly companions as well. Cruising the river bank you’ll find rabbits, raccoons, coyotes and the protected Arroyo Toad.
Didn’t bring your hiking boots? Not a problem, walking shoes are just fine. The Nature Trail is level, maintained and ready for a leisurely stroll or a heart-pumping sprint. Be sure to bring your sunscreen! Head north along the trail and you’ll find yourself resting and shading underneath a quaint riverside gazebo.
Harrah’s Resort SoCal is all about fun and wellness. So go ahead, splurge at the Oyster Bar. Order extra whipped cream on that Lava Flow at Dive. Now you can work off that third trip around the Buffet with a jog on the wild side!
The next time you peer out of your hotel room window and wonder what that big green mountain looks like up close, feel free to take a look. The Nature Trail is ready for the most curious of nature-goers.
